Tell all your REALTOR® friends. The news is finally official. After learning in November that Nevada had met all the qualifications for NAR's prestigious President's Cup award, for excellence in Advocacy, REALTOR® leaders from around the state learned last week that the Silver State had indeed been bestowed with the celebrated honor.
"This is an amazing achievement by all and shows how amazing this great state of ours is," 2018 Nevada REALTORS® President Heidi Kasama said. "I am so proud to be a REALTOR® in Nevada. Greg Martin (2017 Nevada REALTORS® President) deserves high praise for his spirit and drive which spurred this great achievement."
Garnering the President's Cup award is a milestone achievement as Nevada had never previously earned the honor. This accomplishment recognizes that a record number of members are engaged in advocating for REALTOR® interests while protecting private property rights. While capturing President's Cup status for the first time alone makes Nevada's 2017 efforts impressive, there is more stellar news. All five local REALTOR® associations in Nevada also earned the President's Cup award. Nevada is the first and only state to have all of its local associations achieve the feat.
Come out to Diamond Peak Ski Resort and participate in a fun uphill/downhill challenge!
What used to be simply the Diamond Peak Uphill/Downhill Dash is being expanded into a full weekend of fun this Friday through Sunday, March 30 - April 1.
Friday features FREE human-powered sports films from Patagonia at the Apres-Ski Registration Party in the Base Lodge. Register for the uphill/downhill race in advance using the link below, at the party on Friday, or day-of before the race.
On Saturday, after the resort closes for skiing, you're invited to race to the top of the mountain using whatever human-powered method you prefer: skins, snowshoes, running shoes, etc., then ski, snowboard, snowshoe, or run back down to the finish line. For those of a less competitive nature, a recreational course to mid-mountain will be available. Prizes will be awarded for both categories.
The weekend will also include backcountry workshops, avalanche education, and more. Register in advance to get the discounted rates, prices go up day-of.
The event is being co-hosted by the Sierra Avalanche Center with certain activities having a suggested donation to the Center in order to incorporate a fundraising aspect. The focus will be on fun, skiing, family and enjoying the great outdoors via human-powered sports.
